It's not a doll, it's an action figure!
With a decade of experience in collecting one sixth scale figures, I've developed a solid understanding of military uniforms over the years. My fascination with all things military, particularly World War 2, has been ingrained in me since childhood. Fond memories include the thrill of watching classic films like "A Bridge Too Far," "The Eagle Has Landed," "The Bridge at Remagen," "The Great Escape," "The Guns of Navarone," and "Zulu."
Growing up alongside two equally passionate brothers, my twin's interest leaned toward military history like the American Civil War, Anglo-Zulu Wars, and the American Indian Wars, especially the US Cavalry. My older brother delved into the Napoleonic Wars before diversifying into various periods and conflicts.
Leveraging my photography skills, I aim for realism in capturing my collection.
My Collection: While my primary focus is WW2 figures, I've expanded into diverse periods and conflicts. Tanks, vehicles, weaponry spanning anti-aircraft, anti-tank, and artillery, along with dioramas and accessories, comprise my collection. The section on body types and head sculpts details my customising endeavours.
Website's Purpose: The genesis of the website stemmed from my enthusiasm for WW2 Military Uniforms and the desire to share my collection, especially with fellow one sixth scale action figure enthusiasts. The site also serves as a personal inventory tool.
The current version of One Sixth Collectables is the initial iteration. I'm crafting a more interactive website where users can engage, leave comments, and connect with fellow collectors.
Sales: The website streamlines figure, kit, and accessory sales. Presently, I'm active on eBay, using the site to showcase items before listing. However, it's important to note that not all figures in my collection or those featured on the site are up for sale. I am in the process of significant downsizing and engaging in customization projects to decide which pieces I'll retain and those I'll part with.
Photography: While many action figure photos on the site are from the original sellers, I'm gradually replacing them with my own captures – an ongoing project.
